Loyd Grossman Aims to Revitalize the Sector

Loyd Grossman Aims to Revitalize the Sector Category, Loyd Grossman, shake up, targets Food and Beverage Business

Loyd Grossman is set to transform the sauces sector, marking the brand’s most significant initiative since its inception in 1995. Premier Foods is clearly taking the brand beyond its traditional jarred sauces by introducing premium Pasta Sauce Kits and Rice Kits. This innovative format aims to revitalize a mature market and provide retailers with a fresh opportunity for upselling.

These Pasta Sauce Kits (RSP £3.75) are available in three flavors — Signature Bolognese, Creamy Mushroom, and Creamy Tomato & Chilli. Each kit features three separately packaged pouches, prepared in small batches and designed to be combined at home, allowing consumers to achieve the complex flavors reminiscent of fine dining.

Targeting culinary enthusiasts who seek a hands-on cooking experience while still appreciating convenience, Premier Foods positions these kits as a premium enhancement rather than a substitute for the existing jarred options.

The Rice Kits (RSP £3.75), which include Smoky Spanish Style Paella and Creamy Mushroom Risotto, address a common consumer issue: the perception that certain dishes are too time-consuming or challenging to prepare. Both kits can be ready in just 12 minutes, providing a quick route to sophisticated meals without sacrificing taste.

Rob Watson, global cuisines brand director at Premier Foods, stated that the launch represents “genuine innovation — giving shoppers a reason to trade up and retailers a genuinely incremental range, backed by the biggest investment we’ve put behind the Loyd Grossman brand in 15 years.”

Loyd Grossman added: “We cook these sauces in stages, the traditional way, for real depth of flavour, to help you create quality dishes at home in minutes.”

A significant advertising campaign — the largest for the brand in 15 years — will commence in October and November across platforms like YouTube, social media, radio, and outdoor advertising, with another wave planned for early 2027 focused on the core product line.

In addition to the Loyd Grossman upgrades, Premier Foods is also revitalizing the pasta bake segment with two trend-driven launches from Homepride: Marry Me Chicken Pasta Bake Sauce and Fajita Pasta Bake Sauce (RSP £2.65).

The Marry Me Chicken flavor leverages the popularity of one of the internet’s most viral recipes, which has become one of Google’s most searched dishes, transforming its creamy, sun-dried tomato taste into a convenient pasta bake format. The Fajita variety is designed to resonate with families by offering familiar flavors.

Watson noted that these products aim to “drive incremental excitement in the pasta bake category, where flavor innovation has historically lagged behind consumer behavior.”

Through these dual launches, Premier Foods is demonstrating a strong commitment to leading the market by focusing on premiumization, trend relevance, growth, and substantial marketing efforts. This significant investment, marking a 15-year high, reflects Premier Foods’ confidence in disrupting the category.

Together, these initiatives represent one of the most ambitious strategies from Premier Foods in recent years, seeking to modernize two established brands and reinvigorate the broader sauces and meal solutions sector.
