Griffith Foods Enhances European Reach Through Factory Acquisition Food and Beverage Business

Griffith Foods, headquartered in Illinois and active in over 20 international markets across six continents, is poised to enhance its presence in Eastern Europe by acquiring a facility in Poland. The company, which already has a foothold in the Polish food market, has finalized a deal with LipCo Foods Group for the purchase of the Plant-Tec factory located in Zgierz, near Lodz.

This “strategic investment,” as described by Griffith Foods, aims to bolster its manufacturing capabilities in the region, increasing both capacity and flexibility to better meet the demands of local clients. The new facility is expected to solidify the firm’s position within several essential product sectors, particularly in dry seasonings and coatings.

The company notes that the Eastern European market for sauces, seasonings, and spices is projected to expand at an annual growth rate of 6.83% through 2030, with market demand reportedly hitting US$10.49 billion in the previous year.

Filip De Reymaeker, the President for Europe at Griffith Foods, emphasized, “The new production facility is a key manufacturing asset that strengthens our footprint in Poland and Eastern Europe and supports our ability to serve customers in the region with greater capacity, flexibility, and continuity of supply.” He further stated, “It also reinforces our position in important product categories, including dry seasonings and coatings, where we see strong potential for growth.”

Griffith Foods concentrates its efforts on three primary product categories: seasonings, sauces and dressings, as well as alternative proteins. In the UK, the company operates two facilities: one in Somercotes, Derbyshire, specializing in dry blending, sauces, and dressings, and another in Wincanton, Somerset, which focuses on sauces and butters.

César Lipka, CEO of LipCo Foods Group, remarked, “The integration of Plant-Tec by Griffith Foods marks the beginning of a new growth phase for both companies. LipCo Foods Group continues to concentrate on developing multifood segments and innovations. We welcome Griffith Foods’ new production capabilities in Poland, which will facilitate collaborative growth and the delivery of differentiated value in dry product innovation.”
