Award-winning global manufacturer Go-Pak Group has expanded its U.S. operations by appointing John Medford as North American sales manager.

The new appointment supports Go-Pak’s continued international growth as the company supplies compliant, sustainable food packaging solutions to foodservice businesses worldwide. Its approach reflects major food and beverage industry trends, including demand for responsible materials, efficient food processing technology, and packaging that meets changing food and drink regulations.

John has built a strong track record in customer relationship management. Before joining Go-Pak, he spent nearly five years with U.S. manufacturer Dart Container, where he developed extensive experience supporting clients across the packaging sector.

Based in Texas, John will lead Go-Pak’s efforts to increase its visibility and commercial reach in the highly competitive U.S. market. His role will help position the company as an experienced, innovative alternative to established suppliers while supporting customers responding to changing food manufacturing trends, food distribution trends, and food and drink consumer trends.

John said: “As the U.S. continues to introduce and navigate new regulations across the packaging industry, establishing a dedicated presence will allow Go-Pak Group to work more closely with American customers.

“We want to understand the challenges they face, build lasting relationships and grow alongside their businesses, rather than being viewed simply as an overseas supplier.”

Extended producer responsibility (EPR) obligations differ from state to state, creating additional complexity for packaging producers, importers, and customers operating throughout the United States. Go-Pak’s experience managing evolving packaging requirements in the United Kingdom and international markets gives the company a strong foundation for helping customers navigate this regulatory transition.

The appointment also supports wider food and drink industry innovation, including developments in food and drink packaging, food and drink sustainability, and food and drink marketing. As businesses seek packaging solutions that satisfy both regulatory requirements and consumer expectations, local market expertise is becoming increasingly important.

Louise Connolly, global export sales manager at Go-Pak Group, said: “We’re thrilled to be expanding our team in the U.S. as the country undergoes a significant shift towards more sustainable packaging.

“With John’s support, we will continue to strengthen our relationships with existing customers while reaching new businesses looking to innovate their packaging products and recycling initiatives.”
