Indonesia’s resilient domestic market continues to provide a strong foundation for the growth of the country’s food, beverage, and hospitality industries. Against the backdrop of rising consumer spending, the expansion of the hospitality sector, and increasing investment in the foodservice industry, Food & Hospitality Indonesia (FHI) 2026 officially opened on Tuesday, 21 July, at the Jakarta International Expo (JIExpo), Kemayoran.
Now in its 20th edition, FHI once again reinforces its position as Indonesia’s leading Business-to-Business (B2B) international trade exhibition, bringing together domestic and global industry players to expand trade opportunities, attract investment, and foster strategic cross-border partnerships.
The official opening of FHI 2026 was marked by a ribbon-cutting ceremony attended by Minister of Tourism Widiyanti Putri Wardhana, Deputy for Cultural Creativity and Design at the Ministry of Creative Economy Yuke Sri Rahayu, Country General Manager of PT Pamerindo Indonesia Lia Indriasari, and Portfolio Director of Food & Hospitality Indonesia Meysia Stephanie, representing the event organiser. The presence of these distinguished guests underscored the importance of close collaboration between the government and the private sector in strengthening the global competitiveness of Indonesia’s food, beverage, and hospitality industries.
In her opening remarks, Minister of Tourism Widiyanti Putri Wardhana highlighted FHI 2026 as a strategic platform for strengthening the synergy between the food, beverage, hospitality, and tourism sectors. She emphasized that the continued development of these industries plays a crucial role in enhancing visitor experiences while reinforcing the competitiveness of Indonesia’s tourism destinations on the global stage.
“Indonesia’s tourism industry today offers more than destinations, it delivers meaningful experiences through gastronomy and world-class hospitality, both of which have become strategic assets in strengthening the Wonderful Indonesia. In support of this vision, FHI serves as an important platform that connects local producers with international buyers, encourages investment, and fosters partnerships to build a more innovative, resilient, and globally competitive tourism ecosystem,” said Widiyanti.
According to Statistics Indonesia (Badan Pusat Statistik/BPS), Indonesia’s economy grew by 5.61 percent year-on-year in the first quarter of 2026. Among all economic sectors, the accommodation and food service sector recorded the highest growth, expanding by 13.14 percent, while government consumption increased by 21.81 percent.
Indonesia’s food, beverage, and hospitality industries also continue to demonstrate strong momentum. In 2025, the accommodation and food service sector contributed approximately 2.68 percent to the country’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP), equivalent to around IDR 639 trillion, reflecting robust domestic demand and continued growth across the industry.
These figures reflect not only Indonesia’s growing economic activity but also the rising demand for hospitality and foodservice, both of which have emerged as key drivers of the country’s economic growth. Minister of Creative Economy Teuku Riefky Harsya noted that these trends underscore the strength of Indonesia’s domestic market and its growing appeal as an investment destination.
“As Indonesia’s creative economy continues to expand, the food, beverage, and hospitality sectors play an increasingly important role in driving innovation, creating business opportunities, and generating economic value. Every meeting, exhibition, and collaboration within this ecosystem has the potential to inspire new ideas, strengthen partnerships, and shape the future of these industries,” said Teuku Riefky.
He also encouraged industry players, business professionals, academics, and the wider public to participate in Food & Hospitality Indonesia (FHI) 2026. Looking ahead, he expressed his hope that FHI would continue to serve as a strategic platform that brings together industry stakeholders to foster partnerships, enhance competitiveness, and support the development of a high-quality and sustainable business ecosystem.
Portfolio Director of Food & Hospitality Indonesia 2026, Meysia Stephanie, said that over the past three decades, FHI has evolved into a leading international business platform connecting global industry players with Indonesian manufacturers, suppliers, and businesses.
“Indonesia is entering a new phase of growth for its food, beverage, and hospitality industries. Amid rising investment and increasing market demand, businesses need more than just an exhibition—they need an ecosystem that brings together innovation, investment, and global collaboration. Through FHI 2026, we aim to expand market access, strengthen supply chains, and foster strategic partnerships that will enhance the global competitiveness of Indonesian industries,” said Meysia.
Running from 21–24 July 2026, FHI 2026 showcases thousands of products, technologies, and business solutions across the food, beverage, and hospitality sectors. Reinforcing its role as a comprehensive international trade platform, this year’s edition is co-located with Hotelex Indonesia, Fine Furniture & Deco Asia (FFDA), and PROPAK Indonesia, creating a broader industry ecosystem and unlocking greater opportunities for cross-sector collaboration under one roof.
More than 500 companies from 32 countries are participating in this year’s exhibition, including Asia Farm, Greenfields Professional, JAPFA Food, Long Beach Beverage Solution, Queen Food, Bella Cuisine Korea, Koch Backen, Robot Coupe, UNOX, Nayati, Sango Hospitality, Indo Porcelain, Gea Getra, and Chair Culture, alongside hundreds of other leading domestic and international brands showcasing innovative products, technologies, and integrated solutions for the food, beverage, and hospitality industries.
The strong international participation from Australia, the United States, Brazil, Canada, Finland, Italy, Germany, Japan, South Korea, Switzerland, Türkiye, the United Arab Emirates, and many other countries, further reinforces FHI’s position as Indonesia’s leading international B2B trade exhibition and a strategic gateway for companies seeking to expand into the Indonesian and wider Southeast Asian markets.
Beyond showcasing an international-scale exhibition, FHI 2026 further reinforces its role as a strategic business platform through the FHI Business Matching Programme, which is expected to facilitate more than 2,000 pre-arranged business meetings between exhibitors and prospective buyers from Indonesia and overseas throughout the four-day exhibition. Designed to accelerate business connections, the programme aims to foster strategic partnerships, expand market access, and unlock new investment opportunities. Complementing these initiatives, FHI 2026 also presents a diverse programme of national and international seminars, workshops, and competitions that enhance industry knowledge, develop human capital, encourage innovation, and strengthen collaboration across the food, beverage, and hospitality sectors.
One of this year’s highlights is the Tea Masters Cup (TMC), a prestigious competition for tea professionals that returns to support the advancement of Indonesia’s tea industry. Indonesian Tea Specialist Oza Sudewo explained that TMC serves not only as a competition but also as part of a broader effort to strengthen Indonesia’s tea ecosystem.
“Tea Masters Cup aims to elevate the capabilities of professionals across the entire tea value chain, from tea farmers and tea masters to business operators and educators. By continuously developing industry talent, Indonesia’s tea sector will become increasingly competitive and gain wider recognition on the global stage,” said Oza.
FHI 2026 also hosts the World Fashion Drinks Competition (WFDC) Indonesia Division, an international non-alcoholic beverage competition that forms part of the global competition network initiated by Sinoexpo. The competition provides Indonesian mixologists and baristas with an opportunity to showcase their creativity while competing for a place at the global finals.
In the coffee sector, the Specialty Coffee Association of Indonesia (SCAI) once again presents the Indonesia Barista Championship (IBC), the national qualifying competition for Indonesia’s representatives to the World Barista Championship. Meanwhile, the Indonesia Sommelier Association (ISA) is hosting a Wine Masterclass, offering foundational wine education for hospitality professionals.
The educational programme is further enriched through hands-on masterclasses organised in collaboration with the Association of Culinary Professionals (ACP), featuring renowned chefs and culinary practitioners. In addition, LPPOM MUI and Perum BULOG are presenting industry seminars covering the implementation of mandatory halal certification and strategies to strengthen Indonesia’s national food security.
Complementing the exhibition programme, FHI 2026 offers a comprehensive business ecosystem designed to maximise networking opportunities and facilitate meaningful commercial engagement. Dedicated facilities—including the Business Matching Lounge, Buyers Concierge, Customer Insights Corner, Leadgrab Counter, FHI Lounge, Wellness Corner by Perfect Health, and a complimentary shuttle service—are designed to enhance the visitor experience and support productive business interactions throughout the exhibition. Together, these initiatives reinforce FHI’s role as a catalyst for strategic partnerships, investment, and innovation that strengthen the competitiveness of Indonesia’s food, beverage, and hospitality industries.
In line with evolving global industry priorities, FHI 2026 also reaffirms its commitment to sustainability through a range of initiatives, including the Better Stands Programme, exhibition waste management in collaboration with Ecoloop, food waste management with FoodCycle Farm, complimentary drinking water refill stations provided by Waterhub, the collection of used cooking oil for conversion into sustainable aviation fuel in partnership with Noovoleum, electric vehicle charging stations provided by SKKTAMA, and the Beyond Coffee programme, a collaboration between Kopi Kamu and POTADS featuring baristas with Down syndrome. Together, these initiatives demonstrate FHI’s commitment to advancing more responsible, inclusive, and sustainable business practices across the industry.
“With rising consumer purchasing power, growing investment, and strong industry fundamentals, we are confident that FHI 2026 will serve not only as a meeting place for buyers and sellers, but also as a catalyst for innovation, investment, and strategic partnerships that will shape the future of Indonesia’s food, beverage, and hospitality industries. We remain committed to strengthening FHI’s position as Indonesia’s leading international B2B trade exhibition, driving sustainable growth across the industry,” Meysia concluded.
