Crafted in conjunction with both the Football Association (FA) and the Scottish Football Association (SFA), the cupcakes are set to take advantage of the heightened national pride expected this summer as both countries participate in the FIFA World Cup in North America.
From June 1, Finsbury Food Group’s delightful cupcakes will be available in Tesco bakery sections, just days ahead of the tournament kickoff on June 11, with a retail price of £6.00 per pack.
Each pack contains nine vanilla cupcakes that are officially licensed merchandise for the two national teams, prominently showcasing the football crests of England and Scotland.
The cupcakes will be adorned with frosting in the respective team colors and feature edible versions of the national crests.
Andrew Scott, the brand manager at Finsbury Food Group, remarked: “The World Cup always creates a huge sense of excitement and togetherness, so we wanted to create products that fans up and down the country could enjoy during the competition.”
He added: “These cupcakes are designed to be shared and are sure to score big at matchday gatherings and viewing parties throughout the tournament, giving fans a sweet new way to celebrate every goal and nail-biting moment. We’re always looking for new ways to bring excitement to the bakery category, and these products are a great example of that.”
This will be the first time that the Cardiff-based baking company has produced cupcakes specifically for a major international football event. The launch strengthens its established connection with the FA and marks the beginning of a new collaboration with the SFA.
These new offerings will enhance Finsbury Food Group’s already impressive lineup of football partnerships, which includes notable clubs such as Celtic, Rangers, and Liverpool.
