DAVA Foods Ingredients is strengthening its position in the Nordic ingredients sector through an agreement to acquire Swedish spice and ingredient company Kryddhuset i Ljung from Humble Group.
The deal supports DAVA Foods’ long-term strategy to expand its role across the food value chain and reinforce its position as a leading ingredient supplier in Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Finland, and Estonia. The acquisition also reflects broader food and beverage industry trends, including increased demand for specialised ingredients, efficient sourcing, and regional production capabilities.
Located in Ljung, Sweden, Kryddhuset has extensive experience in the development, production, and marketing of customised spice blends, flavour systems, and ingredient products. Its solutions serve both retail customers and industrial food manufacturers. The company recorded revenue of SEK 68.2 million in 2025, including 10% from exports to Norway, and employs 22 people. Kryddhuset’s current management team and employees will continue to operate the business following the transaction.
The acquisition will increase DAVA Foods’ combined volumes in spice blends and flavour solutions by more than 50%. It will also add production capacity at the Ljung site and broaden the group’s customer base. These capabilities position DAVA Foods to respond more effectively to evolving food manufacturing trends, including demand for flexible formulations and specialised processing expertise.
DAVA Foods anticipates significant synergies in procurement, commercial activities, product development, and production planning. The company expects the transaction to strengthen its ability to support customers navigating advances in food processing technology, food and drink packaging, and changing food and drink consumer trends.
Group CEO Ivan Noes described the acquisition as an important milestone in DAVA Foods’ wider ambition to create integrated, value-generating partnerships throughout the food industry. By combining Kryddhuset’s capabilities with its existing raw material sourcing and manufacturing infrastructure, DAVA Foods is continuing to develop into a diversified ingredients partner for customers across the Nordic region.
For Humble Group, the sale forms part of its strategy to concentrate resources on its core businesses. Spices and ingredients are no longer considered central to the group’s future direction.
Humble Group said it was confident that DAVA Foods represented a suitable long-term owner for Kryddhuset, given its sector knowledge and commitment to continued development. The acquisition gives DAVA Foods a stronger platform from which to address evolving food distribution trends, food and drink sustainability priorities, food and drink regulations, and emerging opportunities in food and drink marketing and food and drink industry innovation.
