Corbion is initiating the process of appointing a new chief executive after Olivier Rigaud announced that he will leave the role at the conclusion of his current mandate in May 2027.

Olivier Rigaud has served as CEO for eight years and will continue leading the company through Corbion’s annual general meeting on 12 May 2027. Throughout the transition, he will remain responsible for strengthening operational performance and advancing the company’s strategic agenda.

To ensure leadership continuity, Corbion’s Supervisory Board has launched a succession programme and begun the search for Rigaud’s successor well ahead of his departure.

The company is additionally recommending Alexander Wessels as a candidate for its Supervisory Board at an extraordinary general meeting.

Wessels brings extensive executive experience from the life sciences, specialty chemicals and food ingredients industries. His career has included serving as CEO of Caldic, CEO of Archroma and president and CEO of DSM Pharmaceutical Products, alongside senior leadership positions at DSM and Campina.

He currently acts as chair of the supervisory boards of NRG PALLAS and Enza Zaden, while also sitting on Archroma’s board of directors.

According to Corbion, Wessels’ background in international B2B operations, business transformation and performance improvement will be valuable as the company continues implementing its BRIGHT 2030 strategy.
