Compleat Foodservice has unveiled a new cookie production line at its facility in Crewe, following a substantial investment of £600K.

This initiative emerges in response to the increasing consumer demand for premium cookie varieties within both retail and foodservice sectors, as shoppers seek indulgent, high-quality sweets.

As a well-established figure in the sweet bakery market, Compleat Foodservice produces cookies for some of the UK’s leading quick-service restaurant (QSR) brands and retailers. The company has noted a surge in demand for premium offerings and anticipates a nearly 30% growth in market value by March 2027.

The newly installed line in Crewe will facilitate the expansion of Compleat’s premium product range and elevate overall output by over 30%.

This production line is engineered specifically to create higher-specification cookies, accommodating larger formats and filled varieties, along with a broader assortment of inclusions.

Moreover, it grants the manufacturer increased flexibility concerning formats, sizes, and recipes, enabling the swift creation of tailored products at scale.

“As specialists in sweet bakery, we’re seeing significant demand for more premium, indulgent, and visually impactful cookies,” stated Helen Bowyer, the commercial director at Compleat Foodservice.

“Our clients are seeking assistance to introduce these premium products into the market, and this investment empowers us to meet that need by enhancing both our capabilities and capacity to produce cookies that excel in taste, texture, and presentation.

“It complements our existing offerings, enabling us to support customers across a diverse range of formats and quality levels, while continuing to evolve alongside consumer preferences and advancing our broader growth strategy in sweet bakery.”
