In an innovative move within the food and beverage industry, Simon Howie has partnered with two of Scotland’s most cherished brands—Walker’s Shortbread and Mrs Tilly’s—to introduce a revamped recipe that incorporates delightful chunks of all-butter shortbread and fudge. This collaboration exemplifies the latest food manufacturing trends focused on quality ingredients and heritage.

Originally debuted as a limited-edition dessert for Burns Night in 2024, Simon Howie’s Chocolate Haggis continues to capture the attention of the market. This development aligns seamlessly with food processing technology trends emphasizing unique product offerings.

Commenting on this exciting venture, the Scottish butchery stated, “The Scottish food and drink community is known for its collaboration, and this is a perfect example of three like-minded family-owned manufacturers teaming up to create a unique and innovative product. Chocolate Haggis stands out as an indulgent chocolate brownie dessert molded in the shape of haggis. Therefore, Simon Howie recommends removing all packaging and microwaving the pudding for about 3 minutes before serving with ice cream or cream. Alternatively, consumers can prepare it as traditional haggis, cutting open the casing for service.

The brand’s previous work on Chocolate Haggis recently garnered recognition, winning Campaign of the Year at the 2025 Scotland Food and Drink Awards. This accolade underscores its place within food and drink innovation.

Chocolate Haggis will be available at Tesco starting December 26, followed by Asda, Sainsbury’s, Morrisons, and Scotmid from January 1. However, this limited edition product will only be on the market until Burns Night, so it’s essential for consumers to act quickly.
