After five years leading B&G Foods, president and CEO Casey Keller is retiring from his position at the U.S.-based food manufacturer.
The company announced in a statement that it has come to a “mutually agreed” decision for Keller to step down as the chief executive and a member of the board, effective tomorrow (7 August).
Keller expressed, “It has been an honour to serve as the chief executive officer of B&G Foods. I am proud of our accomplishments as we have navigated through difficult trends in the consumer packaged foods industry.”
“Importantly, we have begun to reshape our portfolio through our recent divestiture and acquisition activity, and I believe the dedicated and resilient team at B&G Foods will guide the company towards a bright future.”
B&G Foods indicated that its board has already chosen a successor for Keller, although the identity of the incoming CEO has not been disclosed. The company confirmed that the new executive, currently in a senior leadership role at another publicly traded entity, has accepted the position.
The firm, headquartered in New Jersey, stated that it plans to announce the appointment “shortly.”
Stephen Sherrill, chair of the B&G Foods board, remarked, “On behalf of our entire company, I want to thank Casey for his contributions to B&G Foods, including his efforts to begin reshaping our portfolio to sharpen focus, simplify our portfolio, improve margins and cash flow, and maximise future value creation.”

B&G Foods is engaged in the manufacturing and distribution of branded shelf-stable and frozen foods across the U.S., Canada, and Puerto Rico. Their diverse product lineup includes over 50 brands, such as Cream of Wheat, Crisco, Dash, Ortega, Polaner, Spice Islands, and Victoria.
