Beacon Foods Names Jeff Davies as Managing Director Food and Beverage Business

Jeff Davies has stepped up to head the Brecon-based food company. With nearly two decades of experience at Beacon Foods, he began his tenure in 2007 as an accountant.

Davies is no stranger to the managing director position; he previously led the company for two and a half years, from January 2017 to June 2019, before becoming the financial director—a role he has fulfilled for the past six years.

Throughout his time at Beacon Foods, the organization has significantly expanded its workforce from 100 to 180 employees, increased its turnover from £8 million to £25 million, and enhanced its production capacity, all backed by a £6 million expansion initiative with assistance from the Welsh Government.

His recent elevation to managing director allows co-founder and chairman Edward Gough to concentrate on the next stage of business growth and development.

“The goal is to maintain momentum by expanding the business and hiring high-quality local talent,” Davies stated.

“With support from an exceptional team of directors, managers, and skilled personnel, we aim to grow our customer base, boost orders from existing clients, and introduce new and exciting products.”

“There’s a great deal of optimism within the organization, and our order book looks promising. We owe a debt of gratitude to the Welsh Government for their support, which has allowed our company to scale operations, increase hiring, and secure additional orders.”

In his new capacity, Davies will continue to manage the finance department, with accounting technician Nicola Lewis taking on additional responsibilities.

Founded in 1993, Beacon Foods specializes in producing garlic, ginger, and chili puree, as well as a variety of roasted and chargrilled vegetables, fruit ranges, relishes, chutneys, sauces, soups, confits, and fruit compotes.

These ingredients are integral to thousands of products, including sandwiches, ready meals, pizzas, soups, beverages, and desserts, which are available in retail, hospitality sectors, and on airlines.
