The Fini Company Acquires German Confectionery Brand Tri D'Aix confectionery Food and Beverage Business

Spain-based Fini Company has acquired the German confectionery firm Tri D’Aix for an undisclosed sum. This strategic move aims to enhance Fini’s position within the food and beverage industry, particularly in the sweets market.

“Tri D’Aix operates primarily as a sales and distribution business, with an established local presence in Germany,” Fini Company confirmed to Just Food through a spokesperson. The privately-owned Spanish group sees this acquisition as a robust strategy to fortify Tri D’Aix and facilitate its ongoing growth.

The acquisition encompasses all of Alsdorf-based Tri D’Aix’s business and assets. However, the spokesperson did not specify the exact facilities owned by the German company, which has built substantial expertise over 30 years of collaboration with Fini.

“Tri D’Aix brings strong local market knowledge, long-standing customer relationships, and commercial expertise in its core markets,” the spokesperson stated. “The focus is on building on these strengths in a complementary way.”

Founded in 1991, family-owned Tri D’Aix is strategically situated near the borders of Germany, Belgium, and the Netherlands. The company employs approximately 40 personnel and exports to around 20 European countries, offering one of the most diverse product selections in the confectionery sector.

Fini Company aims to bolster Tri D’Aix’s commercial reach, enhancing its leadership in the core market while exploring new growth opportunities, particularly in international markets where both companies already have a foothold.

Following this acquisition, Tri D’Aix will maintain its current management and organizational structure, continuing to engage with existing customers and partners. The spokesperson, however, was unable to disclose sales figures for either company, stating, “Both have solid, sustainable operations in their respective markets.”

Fini Company boasts a workforce of over 3,600 and operates in more than 100 countries worldwide. The group markets its products under the Fini and Dr. Good brands, with a presence in Latin American countries such as Brazil, Chile, and Peru, as well as in European markets including France, Portugal, and Italy.

By leveraging this acquisition, Fini Company is aligning itself with current food and drink consumer trends, positioning itself effectively within the evolving landscape of the food and drink business.
