US-based fruit major Driscoll’s has appointed Soren Bjorn as its new CEO, succeeding current CEO Miles Reiter upon his retirement in January. Bjorn, currently serving as the president of the Americas at Driscoll’s, will also take over as executive chairman. With a background in international business and global technologies, Bjorn has been with Driscoll’s since 2006, leading business development across various regions. In his new role, Bjorn will focus on implementing new technologies to improve operational efficiency and address industry-wide challenges like climate change.

Miles Reiter, the current CEO, will step down from his position but will continue as executive chairman. Reiter previously served as Driscoll’s CEO from 2000 to 2015 and again from 2018 until now. He expressed his confidence in Soren Bjorn as his successor, citing Bjorn’s commitment to the company’s values and mission.

Driscoll’s, a leading US fruit supplier, has specialized in strawberries, blueberries, raspberries, and blackberries for over a century. Operating in more than 20 countries with over 900 independent growers, the company’s products are available in over 40 countries across North America, Australia, Europe, and China. In addition to its fruit business, Driscoll’s recently participated in the acquisition of Australia-based fresh fruit and vegetable grower Costa Group as part of a consortium led by private-equity investor Paine Schwartz Partners.
