Seán Molloy appointed as the new CEO of Irish dairy co-op Tirlán Glanbia Food and Beverage Business

Tirlán, the Irish dairy cooperative, has appointed Seán Molloy, current chief ingredients and agribusiness officer, as CEO designate, succeeding retiring CEO, Jim Bergin, in July.

This latest announcement follows the 2022 spin-off of Tirlán, which was separated from Glanbia as part of a €307m deal. Since the spin-off, Glanbia has pivoted to focus on being a global nutrition business. Tirlán, as Glanbia Ireland and Glanbia Cooperative Society was rebranded, retains ownership of well-known brands such as Avonmore milk and Kilmeaden cheese.

Molloy, who has been with Glanbia since 2006, has held key management positions and is currently responsible for revenues exceeding €2.5bn, with exports spanning over 100 countries.

Upon his promotion to CEO, Molloy emphasized his commitment to navigating the upcoming opportunities and challenges in collaboration with his 2,300 colleagues. Similarly, Bergin reflected on his 40-year corporate journey, expressing his well wishes to Molloy as they work together in the coming months during the transition period.
