US bone broth and soup manufacturer NaturPak is undergoing a transition, as private-equity firm Trivest sells the company to another buyout firm, PPC. The financial specifics surrounding this deal remain undisclosed.
NaturPak, headquartered in Wisconsin, specializes in the production of bone broths, soups, sauces, wet pet food, and related ingredients, catering to various market formats.
Chris Trick, investment partner at PPC, stated: “NaturPak’s position at the forefront of consumer trends and impressive customer relationships, including several of the country’s largest retailers and most prominent consumer brands, provide an exciting foundation.” This acquisition aligns PPC with NaturPak’s leadership team, including CEO Aaron Jackson, who will continue to lead the company post-transaction.
Jackson commented on the strategic move, expressing confidence that joining forces with PPC is the “right next step for us as we explore organic and acquisition growth opportunities, innovate for our customers, and take NaturPak to new heights.” This progression is vital as the food and beverage industry trends continue to evolve.
Trivest initially invested in NaturPak in 2020, acquiring a minority stake. In a separate statement, Trivest highlighted the substantial transformation NaturPak has undergone since its inception in 2007, evolving from a specialized contract manufacturer into a robust multi-category platform.
PPC plans to reinforce NaturPak’s strategy by focusing on product development and research and development. The goal is to enhance capabilities in high-growth segments such as bone broth and pet products, while also introducing innovative packaging options.
This acquisition contributes to PPC’s diverse portfolio in the food and drink business, which already includes companies like Bardstown Bourbon Company, bakery group CH Guenther, Monogram Foods, and Sugar Foods.
By investing in NaturPak, PPC is strategically positioning itself within food and drink consumer trends, aiming for continued growth and innovation in response to market demands.
