Private-equity firm Impact Capital has acquired a majority stake in US-based granola bar manufacturer Junkless Foods.
In a statement, Impact Capital and Junkless Foods expressed their shared goal of transforming the brand into a billion-dollar healthy snack platform.
Junkless Foods, established in 2018 and headquartered in Michigan, distributes its granola bars through various retailers including Walmart, Meijer, and Amazon.
Impact Capital, founded by food and beverage entrepreneur Mike Repole, recognizes the immense potential for Junkless Foods to become a leading national brand through innovation and expanded distribution.
Repole, co-founder of Vitaminwater and Bodyarmor, stated, “Everyone is seeking healthier alternatives to their favorite snacks, which is exactly what Junkless provides.”
Repole, who was also an early investor and board member in US snack-bar business Kind before its sale to Mars, has taken a majority stake in Junkless Foods.
Junkless Foods was founded by Ernie Pang and Larry Beyer. Pang, the company’s CEO, noted, “We have dedicated ourselves to bringing Junkless to where it is now, but we recognized the need for something more to take us to the next level.”
