Ausnutria Dairy acquires complete ownership of Amalthea Ausnutria Dairy Food and Beverage Business Ausnutria Dairy

Ausnutria Dairy Corp. is set to acquire the remaining 50% share of the Netherlands-based organic goat’s cheese cooperative Amalthea. The initial 50% was purchased in 2022 for EUR18.4m, and now the remaining share will be acquired for €22.1m. This transaction is subject to competition approvals and clearance from China’s commerce ministry and reform commission.

Amalthea, based in Haansberg, owns the CleardMilk manufacturing trademark, producing goat’s cheese, cow’s cheese, and private-label dairy products like yogurt. Ausnutria Dairy operates five production plants in the Netherlands and owns the Kabrita goat’s milk infant-nutrition brand.

In a related development, China’s largest dairy firm, Inner Mongolia Yili Industrial Group, holds a minority interest in Ausnutria Dairy. Last year, Westland Milk Products bought out Ausnutria Dairy’s stake in a joint venture established in 2016 for NZ$31.1m. This move made Westland Milk the sole proprietor of the Pure Nutrition venture in New Zealand, specializing in baby milk powder and nutrition products for children and adults.

Overall, this strategic acquisition by Ausnutria Dairy further solidifies its position in the food and beverage industry, showcasing a strong focus on expanding its product portfolio in the market.
