Nightingale Ice Cream Sandwiches, a US-based company, is making a significant move by relocating its production and corporate headquarters to a new site in Richmond, Virginia.

This transition, costing $5.8 million, is set to create 166 new jobs, according to an announcement by Virginia Governor Glenn Youngkin.

The relocation follows a period of substantial growth, as the ice cream maker has “doubled in size” year-on-year and has “outgrown” its current production facilities.

The new facility will span 29,000 square feet on a five-acre site, originally constructed in 1983. Notably, 24,000 square feet will be dedicated to production efforts.

Founded in 2016, Nightingale specializes in “handcrafted” ice cream products, currently available in over 5,000 retail locations across the US. Key stockists include Whole Foods Market, Kroger, The Fresh Market, and Harris Teeter.

Hannah Pollack, CEO, president, and co-founder of Nightingale Ice Cream, stated, “What began in the kitchen of a Richmond restaurant has grown into something beyond what we ever imagined.”

She further expressed appreciation for the support from the Commonwealth, describing it as a remarkable honor and a powerful vote of confidence in their vision. Pollack added that the funding “will help us accelerate our growth while staying true to our Richmond, Virginia roots.”
