In a move inspired by the popular Tango Ice Blast flavors, Tango Raspberry Blast and Cherry Blast will be making a limited-time comeback to store shelves in a new 2-liter format. This expansion builds on the successful exclusive launch in April 2024, catering to consumer demand.

With a manufacturer’s recommended retail price of £3.35, these larger bottles will be accessible at various discount retailers, including Iceland and Home Bargains. This strategic pricing aims to attract budget-conscious consumers seeking refreshing soft drink options.

Carlsberg Britvic anticipates that this format expansion will enable more retailers to capitalize on take-home soft drink occasions, specifically targeting ‘big nights in’ and similar events.

Tango Sales Growth

Currently, Tango’s sales are valued at £113 million, representing a notable 7.6% increase in the past year. Moreover, Tango Blast has emerged as a top performer within the brand. According to Nielsen, Raspberry Blast and Cherry Blast ranked first and second for fruit-flavored carbonated product development in 2024, contributing significantly to approximately half of Tango’s overall growth.

Tango Raspberry Blast and Tango Cherry Blast are now available for a limited period of six months across selected discount retailers. In-store shopper activations will complement the launch throughout April, alongside ongoing social media and PR initiatives.

Established in 2025 after Britvic’s acquisition by Carlsberg, Carlsberg Britvic offers a diverse soft drinks range that includes well-known brands such as Fruit Shoot, Robinsons, Tango, J2O, London Essence, Teisseire, Plenish, and Jimmy’s Iced Coffee.

Under exclusive agreements with PepsiCo, the company is licensed to manufacture, market, and sell popular beverages, including Pepsi MAX, 7UP, Lipton Ice Tea, and Rockstar Energy.

Carlsberg Britvic’s Operations

The company boasts a national footprint that encompasses six production facilities and a logistics operation supported by 16 depots, which efficiently service customers across the UK.

In January, Carlsberg Britvic invested £1.15 million to upgrade its Rugby factory’s centralized chilling system, enhancing efficiency with new cooling towers.

This investment, backed by a £305,000 grant from the Government’s Industrial Energy Transformation Fund, is expected to improve efficiency compared to the existing heat rejection setup, thereby reducing electricity consumption in the chiller units.

Meanwhile, the drinks brand Tropicana has introduced a new range of blended fruit juice SKUs in a variety of appealing flavors.
