As the demand for Vinca’s organic Sicilian wines consistently rises, the brand recognized the need for a production partner who could efficiently scale operations. Vinca now offers a diverse selection, including red, white, and rosé wines in 187ml cans, along with sparkling options in 200ml cans. These products are available at over 100 retailers and beverage specialists, in addition to various hospitality locations. They also appear on flights, cruise ships, train lines, and at major stadiums and arenas, garnering a prestigious collection of awards. With substantial growth anticipated in 2025 and even greater expansion scheduled for 2026, Vinca sought a partner equipped with advanced machinery capable of supporting its ambitious growth trajectory.

Kingsland Drinks provided the ideal solution, and the partnership is now fully operational, positioned to propel Vinca into its next phase of dynamic growth.

Eileen Hay, Contract Pack Business Account Manager at Kingsland Drinks, states: “Vinca has made its mark on the canned wine sector, and we’re thrilled to be on the growth journey with them as they enter the next phase of their expansion.”

“Over the past few years, we have made significant investments in our high-speed canning line at our Salford production facility, recognizing that this sector is primed for growth. This aligns with evolving consumer lifestyles and trends in socializing. As consumers engage more deeply with canned products, they are appreciating the convenience, recyclability, and sustainability these options offer, whether it’s wine, spirits, mixers, cocktails, or non-alcoholic alternatives. Our initial investment of £1.2m in 2020 enabled us to expand our canning services, now boasting a capacity to produce 26 million cans annually in 150ml, 187ml, 200ml, 250ml, and 330ml formats. With additional investment underway, our capacity and capabilities will further augment in 2026 and beyond.”

Founded four years ago by Zak Walters, Jack Green, and Charlie Vass, Vinca emerged from a commitment to create sustainable, organic alternatives to traditional glass wine bottles, using 100% recyclable materials.

Zak Walters, Co-founder of Vinca, notes: “We’ve established a strong working relationship with the Kingsland Drinks team, who have thoroughly understood our brand ethos, our origins, and our current and future needs. They’ve shown they can support our plans for new product development and capacity requirements; we were impressed with their facilities, capabilities, and scale.”

“Driven by our passion for redefining the wine industry, we are confident in our position within the competitive canned wine sector, bolstered by our partnership with Kingsland Drinks.”

To further support this burgeoning format, Kingsland Drinks has collaborated with MM Packaging to create a fully enclosed, FSC-certified carton board solution for canned wines and ready-to-drink cocktails, which serves effectively as both a transit pack and an on-shelf display.

Jo Taylorson, Head of Marketing and Product Management at Kingsland Drinks, adds: “Partnerships like those with Vinca and MM Packaging are critical for brands looking to scale; finding the right strategic partner is essential for advancing to the next level. Our infrastructure and capabilities are ideally positioned to support brands during periods of expansion and growth, whether they involve wine, spirits, RTDs, or non-alcohol products.”
