Clavering supermarket, a Spar convenience store renowned for its fresh food and local produce, recently underwent an extensive £250,000 refurbishment. As part of its commitment to providing top-notch services, the store has introduced a rapid 75kW charge point capable of recharging a typical car in under half an hour, aligning perfectly with the average dwell time at a convenience store.

This state-of-the-art equipment has been designed with utmost convenience in mind, offering a seamless user experience. Customers can effortlessly make payments using a contactless tap or through the user-friendly Zest app. To ensure a reliable and long-lasting service, the operation and maintenance of the charge point will be handled by Zest, the provider that also facilitated installation.

Muru Visana, owner of Clavering Supermarket, emphasizes the importance of having charging facilities available to customers, visitors, and the local community. Recognizing the growing popularity of electric vehicles (EVs), he acknowledges that easy and quick access to charging options will further establish the store’s central role within village life.

Robin Heap, CEO of Zest, echoes this sentiment, asserting that forward-thinking retailers must anticipate the future, wherein charging EVs will become as simple as plugging in wherever parking is available. Investing in convenient charging facilities now positions retailers to reap the benefits of this profound shift in consumer behavior.

With a focus on customer satisfaction and convenience, Clavering supermarket’s new charge point stands poised to enhance the overall shopping experience while embracing sustainable practices.
