There was a strong demand for the introduction of bleed control kits several years ago following a stabbing incident in Westhoughton. In response, a group led by Claire Axon from Darcy Lever has been tirelessly working to install these kits in the area and its surroundings.
One of the recent installations took place at Kegs N Blades convenience store on Lever Edge Lane in Bolton. This kit has been placed alongside the store’s existing defibrillator, adding an extra layer of life-saving support.
Axon emphasized the importance of publicly accessible bleed control packs, highlighting their ability to reduce blood loss and potentially save lives until professional medical help arrives. She expressed concern that there are currently very few, if any, of these bleed control kits in the Bolton area. Axon urged everyone to get on board with this initiative by placing these crucial kits in their defibrillator cabinets, pubs, workplaces, and other public areas.
Axon stated, “I strongly believe that these bleed control kits should be widely distributed and placed in as many defibrillator cabinets as possible.”
The team at Kegs N Blades was overjoyed to announce the installation of a Bleed Kit in their defibrillator cabinet. Through this action, the store now boasts both a defibrillator and a Bleed Kit, ensuring life-saving equipment is readily available to the community in case of any life-threatening injuries.
