Dairylea is enhancing its foothold in the healthier snacking market by introducing Snackers with Strawberry Fruit Bites, marking the brand’s inaugural HFSS-compliant offering. This initiative is aimed at meeting the increasing demand for lighter options suitable for lunchboxes and family snacking.

The new product merges the iconic Snackers format with strawberry fruit bites crafted from real fruit. It is priced at £1.65 for a 64g pack and is accessible to convenience stores and wholesalers.

Mondelez is backing the launch with in-store promotions, online initiatives, and collaborations with influencers, reflecting their confidence in the product’s potential to contribute to incremental sales growth.

This introduction addresses a shift in consumer behavior, as parents seek snacks that provide a sense of permissibility while ensuring convenience and familiarity.

Natalie Wong, brand executive for Dairylea at Mondelēz International, noted that the product development was influenced by these market trends. “Families are increasingly looking for healthier snacking options that continue to deliver on convenience and great taste. Dairylea Snackers with Strawberry Fruit Bites have been created to meet that need,” she stated.

Wong emphasized that this launch represents “an important step in strengthening our healthier credentials and attracting new shoppers into the category,” highlighting the positive consumer feedback received during testing phases.

The introduction is indicative of a larger trend, as HFSS regulations reshape product offerings, prompting brands to either reformulate or innovate compliant options that retain brand identity while exploring new merchandising avenues. By positioning itself within the expanding segment of lunchbox-friendly snacks, Dairylea aims to compete more effectively, particularly as fruit-based hybrids and portion-controlled formats gain popularity.

With the Snackers brand already firmly established, the inclusion of Strawberry Fruit Bites offers retailers a novel selling point and an opportunity to connect with health-conscious families, all while maintaining the cheese-centric brand identity that defines the product line.
